Regarding ITIN AND W7
« on: January 14, 2013, 05:19:51 AM »
Hi everyone,

I am new to UK Yankee and I was wandering if anyone can advice me on how to obtain a ITIN number , the process involved, how long it takes to obtain the number. I would also appreciate if someone can name any good CPA or tax preparer in Tennessee who have worked with couple that needed to obtain an ITIN number and filed taxes with ITIN number. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I suggest that you find a certifying acceptance agent close to where you are:

Thank you for the suggestion do you know of any? How do I find them cause every time I tried to Google Certifying Acceptance Agent it just gives me how to become one and not a list of agents. I am going crazy from the stress.

I googled "certifying acceptance agent" and came up with this IRS link:

http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Acceptance-Agent-Program

"National / International CPA Firms *
Deloitte and Touche, LLP
Ernst & Young LLP
KPMG LLP
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP
* Check local telephone directory for nearest location."

Perhaps you could start with the above?
