Life In The UK Test PASSED!!!
« on: January 24, 2013, 04:06:10 PM »
Well, I PASSED my Life In The UK Test this morning!!!

I arrived at the test center early and they let me check in, no problems there.  There was 14 people supposed to sit the test but they turned one away because the information on her ID did not match.

I completed the test in 9 minutes, and that included tripple checking my answers.  There were three that I was not sure of, so I just made an educated guess.

My advice to anyone preparing to sit the test is to READ THE BOOKS and not just do practice questions on the internet because the test words the questions differently.  I'll post one example of one that ALMOST made me stumble.

Example of PRACTICE Question on Internet:

How many children and young people under the age of 19 reside in the UK?
a:  10 million
b:  15 million
c:  20 million
d:  25 million
CORRECT ANSWER = B

Actual Test Question:

What percentage of the population of the UK are aged 19 and under?
a: 10%
b: 15%
c: 20%
d: 25%
CORRECT ANSWER:  D

The only way you would get that question right is if you actually knew the total population of the UK.

So anyway, I'm glad its done now, again my advice is to study ALOT and you will be fine!!!

I will be attending the Sheffield PEO for my SET(M) visa on 28th Feb!!!

PS:  I am happy to offer my study books (official ones as reccomended from the home office) to go FREE to anyone who wants them as long as they pay for postage, or if local, collect them.  If you are interested, please send me a message on here, they are used (nearly new) but not marked in or anything.

Yes. But I'm planning to make my appointment for the test soon after it arrives. I'm a bit nervous that they're going to make more changes and make it harder somehow, and just don't want to have to think about it later.

You have been waiting a very long time!!  I would be on the phone to them every day!  I cannot stand waiting, thats why I have made an in person appointment at a PEO...I know it costs more, but I would be living in my postbox if I had to wait!!
