Hum! I've never seen those before.  I'm curious what they are like.  I can't imagine they'd be the same.  Quaker grits are white, but I do have some good southern grits that are yellow like that.  Now I'm curious.

I usually get mine when people come from home, so I'm not much help.  I have seen them in the odd imported American food corner, but usually just the instant packs that aren't as good, so I don't get them.  I haven't really seen them in the mainstream here at all. The shop I've seen them in is closing, so I can't help there.

I know the American commisaries on base carry them, but you'd need a military ID to get in. I've seen instant grits around, but never the other kind in shops that carry US stuff.

For 79p it's worth a shot. I've still got some that I bought on the last trip to the US, but eventually they will be gone  :\\\'(

I've not seen them in my local Tesco, but really haven't looked. I will now, and thx for the link.

Although a bit course on the tongue than the creamy- like texture of our traditional Southern girts, it serves the purpose for the yearning of "something normal from back home".
Just add a bit more water and simmer it down slow, so the larger grains have the time to absorb more water, making it softer..... Found it makes it less grainy on the palate.
As for instant girt...Gross..... Not for a "Georgia Peach" like myself. ;D

Amazon.co.uk! you'd be surprised. I get most of my stuff from there.. although be careful of those people charging stupid amounts for shipping. I just got some Fluff and Fruit Loops this morning. ***SUUUGGGAAARR***

You know Tesco's sells Fluff as well?

Check your local TK Maxx for American items..I can usually find some odds and ends there...
