Here in the States you can purchase private insurance to provide for any Long term health care needs. This works as a safety net in case a person would need to utilize long term care in a rehab facility or nursing home care. But it also can protect a person's personal wealth, house, autobiles, bank accounts, from seizure by the government if THEY provide long term care.
Does the UK offer the same type of private insurance options, and how expensive would monthly premiums be for someone in their late 40's,early 50's? I'm trying to find out if the monthly cost would be less or more expensive in the UK if I were not to use the NHS.
Thanks
