Going for a short visit to the UK
« on: February 17, 2013, 01:05:20 PM »
I'm going to take my son, and go visit my husband in the UK for a week or two, what do I need so they don't try to tell me I can't do this?
I'll follow you, no matter where you go, what you do, just hold my hand, and lead me through. I need your guidance, I need your strength. I won't protest,, I won't complain..

I would suggest bringing documents that show that you have reason to return to the US. Something that shows that you have a home/apartment in the US, for instance, or a letter from your employer stating when you're expected back at work.

You need to prove that you have ties to your home country which will show that you intend to return:

Return tickets, a letter from your employer stating when you are expected back to work, a lease or mortgage document, a letter from your son's school saying when he is expected back.
