Feedback for UKBA appointment system?
« on: February 12, 2013, 12:08:21 PM »
I want to give (negative) feedback about the atrocious UKBA in-person appointment system for FLR(M) and SET(M). Having to stay up past mid-night or other odd hours seems completely unreasonable (and unnecessary). I've been looking around the UKBA web site and cannot find any feedback form whatsoever. Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I write to my MP?

Thanks!

If you managed to get an appointment, they have feedback forms at the PEO (at least in Croydon).  DH and I wrote as much as we could fit on there.  We were sure to mention the online booking system.  :)  Maybe be prepared with a list of things you want to address before going to an appointment.  :)

If you give them your address, they send you a postcard thanking you.  :)  I kind of want to use that as one piece of 'proof of cohabitation' for ILR.  :P

You could try writing a service complaint to: UKBACustomerComplaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

And then when they inevitably either ignore you or exceed the target date for completion, you can write a letter to your MP, include a request for the assistance of the Parliamentary Ombudsman (there's a form to fill; you can find it on the PO website) and all evidence of your complaint, and try to get it addressed there.

TravelingFrog - I love the irony. Do it  ;D

It's a hand address (but pre-printed text) postcard..... but it IS from the UKBA.   ;)  Maybe it can be my bonus 7th proof of cohabitation.   ;D  Slipped in there with bank statements and bills.    [smiley=curtain.gif]

Ok.... I'll use it.... but only as a bonus 7th piece of cohabitation  :P

Tune in in November 2014 when I finally do it (just got FLR in December 2012).  :P  It'll just have to be left as a cliff-hanger until then.  :P  hehehehehe

Has anyone actually been able to load the website in the past 3 days? I know they are constantly having problems but I've been trying to load the website a few times an hour for the past few days. I can't even get the page to load so I can just register. I've tried 3 different browsers and it still isn't working. It's very frustrating, I know appointments are hard to come by but geeze, I can't even see what the website looks like!

jenny_ell -- there's an announcement in the "News and Updates" section of the UKBA website that says the system is down for maintenance until 6am Monday.  See: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/newsarticles/2013/february/27-apply-online

“It was when I realised I had a new nationality: I was in exile. I am an adulterous resident: when I am in one city, I am dreaming of the other. I am an exile; citizen of the country of longing.” ― Suketu Mehta.

Married 04/13/11, in NYC.
Applied for Spouse Visa the following week, with express service, and I was approved 4 days later!
Arrived in the UK 05/20/11.
I took the stupid LIUK Test Oct. 2012.
We were granted ILR In Person in Croydon on 04/23/13.
Got BRP 2 days later, in mail box - it just appeared.
