SS/ITIN Number on 1040?
« on: February 26, 2013, 12:43:16 PM »
I'm a USC living in the UK with my UKC husband.  I moved here in July 2012, we got married in the UK in November 2012 and I haven't earned any money in the UK yet, so I don't believe I need to fill out anything besides the usual 1040 for this year (please tell me if I'm wrong!).  :)  I was here for less than 330 so I don't need to fill out the 2555, I believe (but I will next year).

On the 1040, I'll be filing as Married Filing Separately (I think), but it asks for spouse's Social Security number.  It looks like there is an ITIN, but does DH need that or should I just write 'NRA' and his name?

Does DH need to file anything at all?  He's never lived nor worked in the US.   :-\\\\

of course you'll have to file using "MFS" status and still may have to file an FBAR.
