filing us taxes in the uk,am i doing it right?

hi,i'm new on this forum.i'm a usc,currently living in the uk.i am single with no children.the way i understand it is i have to send form 1040ez and form 2555ez to the irs office at the us embassy right?and i mail these in right?do they send anything back acknowleding i've filed my taxes? stateside i've always used h & r block,so i'm a bit of a novice to this.my previous adress was in texas where ther is no state tax,so i don't have to worry about that.any help,tips or comments would be greatly appreciated.thank you.

Sounds like a big song and dance to me. Can you not just file online?  :)

They don't let you use the free file thing if your spouse doesn't have a SS number.

They don't let you use the free file thing if your spouse doesn't have a SS number.

The OP states he is single, so perhaps he can efile?
