Minnesota to Croydon

Hi Everyone!
I found this website by accident and it seems a nice way to connect with my fellow Yanks!

I grew up in Wisconsin, but lived in Minnesota for about 10 years. Been married to my Brit since 2000 and after 3 years of a long-distance marriage, finally got over to this side of the atlantic.

I've been in Croydon for over a year and as I would like to say its been all rosy, I have had my moments of missing the wide roads, spacious gardens, ranch dressing (I can't find it anywhere, does anyone know where I can get my hands on it?), and saying "cookies" instead of "biscuits":)

well just thought I'd introduce myself..anyone else in the croydon area?

Hi Kbreena and welcome to UKY!  I too wish at times the raods where wider... with my depth perception it would be a good thing...

Welcome to the site.  I have been in the UK  for over year, some of things you miss, I miss.  I am in Chelmsford, would love to meet some people.

Hi!

I'm not in the Croydon area but I was born in Wisconsin (by Wausau) and moved to Minnesota (in the Rochester and Minneapolis areas) as well!      ;D    I recently moved here about 3 months ago (to Yorkshire). 

There is a thread somewhere in the Food section about people finding certain types of Ranch dressing and comparing tastes.  I knew it would be hard to come by though cause my husband's grandmother had me bring over some Hidden Valley Ranch packets.  ;D

Hiya, kbrenna! Er, I've got a cousin in Minnesota.  :)

And I live in a London suburb and come into town once a week for university. I think I might feel a London drinks get-together coming on in the near future! There are just too many people I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet....
