Ugh, sounds horrible.

DH and I are living in a place with similar problems, as mentioned before, so I totally sympathize and offer virtual commiseration.  Some of your pictures could have been our pictures!!  :(

We are still waiting for word back on whether we can rent a new place as well... every day is so nerve wracking!

Oh HELL no!!! This is horrible!! I don't have anything constructive to say, just wanted to wish you guys luck. I would have been in jail had this been me. Lol.
There are two kinds of people.  People who say what they want, and people who DO what they want. Which one will you be?

I don't think they can just take the keys off you if you are still considered tenants until the 27th. Don't give them keys back until then. I would also notify all your bill providers and ask for a final bill. Say that you have moved out on the 2nd.

Your agency is full of sh*t. I've dealt with p*icks like this before. I'm very sorry that you are in this situation. Those pictures are awful!

yay!

We win!  They are finally letting us leave when we want to.  And not making us pay anything extra!

Hooray!  I thought you had enough to give them grief.  I hate agencies like that, and it sounds as if the landlord was no better.  Well done!

I don't know how you and your wife put up with all this! I would have just moved out and told them to send me a bill, as I'd be sending them my solicitor.

Wow, you have my utmost sympathies as I too lived in a horrible situation with mould with a stupid estate agent who was a horrible cow and tried to tell me to do the same things yours did.  I have an autoimmune condition and the mould was wrecking havoc with me and it was horrible.  I moved as fast as I could! But I had a huge battle on my hands.

I am so glad you fought and won.  Well done you!!!!! Here's to a new, mould free place!!!!!  (and congrats on the baby!!!!!!)  :) :) :) :)

I had a small mold problem when I lived in California. It was in a place I could not see (behind my headbord) and I did not know until I moved. However, for months I had health issues. Lung infection after lung infection and had become resistant to antibiotics. I thought it was the area I lived (being valley) and it turned out to be my bedroom!
