I am a U.S. citizen attempting to join my boyfriend in the U.K. using a prospective civil partnership visa.
We have the application filled out and submitted, and we just put in the biometrics, however, when we sat down to fill out Appendix 2 (which was today, his work schedule has been really hectic), we noticed that there is a section asking us to do something we don't feel very comfortable with.
Though the accommodation is perfectly suitable, and we have photographs and documentation proving that, he does have housemates. This wouldn't be a problem except that there is a section on the application for the passport numbers of his housemates. That is an extremely personal piece of information to have to ask them, so my gut reaction is to find out if they're really serious.
Does the UKBA really expect us to ask his housemates (who are in no way related to him) for their passport numbers?
I really need to have some answers to this now. My fiance is talking about moving out and into his own flat right this second (which he could feasibly do), but that would mean having to go through god-knows-what hassle in order to change the address on the application, which I'm not sure we can even do (not to mention that it's something that really seems will look fishy on the application if they see we've changed it), plus we only have two weeks to get all the evidence shipped.
I am seriously in borderline panic mode trying to figure out what to do. Please...just tell us if we can leave his housemate's passport numbers off.
