Wife Enters UK for 1st time with Spousal Visa....
« on: March 26, 2013, 04:18:48 PM »
Hi all,

Well,

The time is here, I fly out to the US tomorrow morning, spend a couple weeks with wifey and her parents, pack up the last of her things and then she flies back with me and moves to the UK with her recently-issued spousal visa...

When we got the visa back from the Sheffield Office there was nothing with it.
No congrats, info pack, welcome to UK blah blah blah... Just her passport and the evidence we submitted. Is there anything specific she needs/has to do when we land in the UK?? Can she join the queue with me to go through Passport control?
Any advice from anyone...will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
John

Yes, she *should* be able to join the queue with you at Immigration Control, but best to ask the person directing the lines.  I've been told to go through the EU line with my husband, only for us to be sent to the non-EU line (depends on the Immigration Officer).  But the general rule is that they want the *family* to go through the line together.

Yes, she should mention that she has a spouse visa and that it is her initial entry.  They'll stamp it with the date and you'll be on your way.
