UKBA's problems
« on: March 27, 2013, 07:37:13 PM »

According to the home secretary the UKBA’s problems boil down to four main issues.
•First, the sheer size of the Agency means it has conflicting cultures, and all too often focuses on the crisis in hand at the expense of other important work.
•Second, its lack of transparency and accountability.
•Third, its inadequate IT systems.
•And fourth, the policy and legal framework within which it has to operate.

Translation:

•First, the sheer size of the Agency means it has conflicting cultures, and all too often focuses on the crisis in hand at the expense of other important work.

They are approving visas, too many visas, too many people are approving visas so we must downsize, because we want to cut net migration. We must fire half of them, and then micromanage the ones we keep.

•Second, its lack of transparency and accountability.

They are approving visas, and we want to cut net migration. We need to watch them so that they will stop approving people. We must fire anyone who approves people.

•Third, its inadequate IT systems.

Ms May wants a new Ipad and a new kindle. And maybe a new home computer too.

•And fourth, the policy and legal framework within which it has to operate.

We need to be able to change the laws without needing approval from any other government body, because they are approving visas, and that must stop, so we must watch them closer, on our new laptops, so that we can reduce net migration, and keep our jobs.

“It was when I realised I had a new nationality: I was in exile. I am an adulterous resident: when I am in one city, I am dreaming of the other. I am an exile; citizen of the country of longing.” ― Suketu Mehta.

Married 04/13/11, in NYC.
Applied for Spouse Visa the following week, with express service, and I was approved 4 days later!
Arrived in the UK 05/20/11.
I took the stupid LIUK Test Oct. 2012.
We were granted ILR In Person in Croydon on 04/23/13.
Got BRP 2 days later, in mail box - it just appeared.

That's about the size of it, LaraMascara, isn't it. Disheartening.
