Committed - new book by Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat Pray Love)
« on: April 22, 2013, 04:42:01 PM »
I started reading Elizabeth Gilbert's new book Committed last night.  She is the author of Eat, Pray, Love.

Only about a chapter into the book and already think many of you would enjoy this book.  If you read Eat Pray Love, you remember that Liz meets Filipe in the Phillappines.  This book is about how they got on after that.  Basically Filipe came to "live" with Liz in the US but only received visitor entry for 90 days at a time.  He'd leave at the end and travel for a bit then get re-entered into the US for another 90 days.  Then after about 2 years Filipe is denied entry into the US and banned from entering without a permanent visa status....

Sounds like a lot of us!  :o)

I think this is going to be a great book to refer people to about the complexities of being in an international relationship.

I remember that book! It is not new tho... It has been out for several years now.

I liked it better then her other book, 'Eat, Pray, Narcissism.'

Lol.  Yeah, I thought much of the same when I read Eat Pray Love.  Which is why I am not at all surprised that she thought she could out smart the US immigration rules.

Eh, it was my first spotting of the book so I thought it was new.  ;D Wasn't exactly looking to read it but my father-in-law had just read it and liked it, so I borrowed it.
