doggie daycare?
« on: November 09, 2012, 04:44:59 PM »
Hello all

Just found this site, having been in the UK for 8 years. Nice to see so many expats floating around Britain.

Has anyone found a doggie daycare in England that they really like? I can't find anything here, which is odd given how successful and popular they are in the US.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Amy

Well, just because it's popular in the US, doesn't mean it will be popular here.

I am in Scotland, rather than England, but at one stage I was looking for extra care for my (now deceased) elderly greyhound, and was seeking a 'doggie daycare' type situation, where he would have been with people and other dogs all day and constantly looked after.  I didn't find anything like that... best I found was someone who would come in and take him for toilet breaks/short walks twice a day.

If I hadn't been in a rented flat, I'd have considered starting a doggie daycare as a business for myself!  :)

Good luck.

Afraid they are few and far between in the UK. You might be able to find someone who is willing to look after your dog in the day.

I also used our dog walker to look after my spaniel
She would take him for a walk for a few hours as I worked parttime and also boarded dogs

We have just moved to London, but from time to time need a pet sitter or boarding and I found this place.  I can't recommend it yet, but I think it will be who we go with first!
