When I was applying to unis (11 years ago! ugh!), I found SATs were used more for schools in the west and ACTs were used more for schools in the east. Maybe it's changed since then or maybe it depends on the type of school you're applying for, but check with the schools before deciding on the SAT.

I took both tests in the end and scored the same. Well, they have different ways of scoring, but overall I was in the 85th percentile for both the ACT and SAT.

My high school classes prepped us for the SAT but for the ACT I had to do my own practicing.

Will she be able to take the SAT in the UK or will she need to go to the US for the test? I know my SAT tests was administered by my high school, but that could have very well changed in the last decade.

Good luck!
