I've never ever in all my life of flying BA experienced that ... but it would be a big plus in my book!  ;D ;)

Yeah, I had that all that experience squeezed into 4 flights. Never going with them again. EVER.
I really don't mind not eating on the plane at all, but seriously, do we always have to smell what other people are eating? Especially if it it smells so bad that I was forced to cover my face with a blanket?

We had terrible food the last time we flew on BA, but it wasn't because it was overly spiced.

I've only flown BA once (2011) and I don't remember the food being particularly good or bad just meh, but I feel that way about all airplane food. My worst flying experience was with Virgin. My best experience was with United. Internationally, I have flown Aer Lingus, American, British Airways, United and Virgin. The Virgin flight was bad because I feel like the seats are really narrow and it was a fully booked Red Eye full of screaming children. Luckily, I had an aisle seat, but the man sitting next me was a horrible human being. They also had the worst food.

Yeah, I don't really care about food on a plane either. It's never going to be REALLY good, is it? I care about safety, delays and lost luggage. And that is why I don't fly Delta.

Flying seems to be a hit or miss these days...flew Delta last time, no issues, left my ereader on the plane (like an idiot) and a Delta rep was kind enough to retrieve it for me  [smiley=book.gif]

For me, consistently best all around is Lufthansa (but probably because last time I flew with them, it was CHEAP, plane was almost empty and I got to stretch out like a king, and I had an endless supply of orange juice) Best food: Turkish airlines (yummy olives and feta cheese ftw) Best entertainment: AA when I was flying over the pacific (in their spiffy jumbo plane) and United when I was coming back from London (again, spiffy jumbo plane)

I'm usually more concerned about the airports I'm transiting through than the airline itself. "Oh you want me to transit in Paris during air traffic strikes?" No merci :P

I read this prior to flying out here to London for my visit and decided to fly Air New Zealand, best decision I EVER made! Excellent service, funny flight attendants and excellent selection of films/tv shows etc.. They even served my daughter first before they served the adults. I thought that was quite clever ;)

Exactly. I've never thought to myself, "this sodium-packed, slop-covered, sort of, maybe chicken tastes amazing!" Since I'm usually only flying to or from Boston, I eat a big meal before I leave and bring some healthy snacks for the flight. It's much more pleasant that way.  :)

I just flew US Airways back to the states, and all basics were fine, but I'll echo complaints on the food. I'm on a really strict diet due to digestive issues, and none of their pre-set special meals fit the bill for me. I called and asked if I could request something different and they wouldn't let me go off those menus - and all I was asking for was a bowl of rice! I then asked if there was a microwave on the plane and was told yes - it was for staff use but that I could perhaps ask to use it. So I brought my own microwaveable rice and asked the stewardess about it when boarding, only to be told they didn't have microwaves. In the end I was stuck with a tortellini, praying it didn't make me ill, and my carry on full of rice cakes and tortilla chips. Yum.  :-\\\\

I have never had a problem with BA, In fact the best flight attendant I have ever known was BA.  And the best meal I ever had was BA......mmmmm  I still talk about it.  Chicken breast (which was as moist as I make it) with garlic mash and veg in a butter sauce.  And a pear chocolate mousse.  It was so good.....I took pictures.

American on the other hand is awful.  And you have to be careful when you book BA flights because sometimes it is operated by AA.  On 4 flights to/from NYC/MAN (via LHR) in february and March it was the same choices.  Chicken curry or mushroom pasta.  I don't eat mushrooms so I chose the chicken.  What fun going through LHR with food poisoning.  That was reeeeaal fun.  Was so bad at one point they wanted to take me to hospital.  But since I had already missed 1 connecting flight, and my mother in law was in hospital.....I soldiered on.  Needless to say I did not eat anything on any of my other AA flights.

I miss Continental. I loved it so! But since they merged with United, there's been a noticeable change, mostly with the flight attendants. They're just not the same caliber. I had one guy tap me on the head repeatedly when I had my headphones on! Who does that?! You could have gently touched my arm, not knocked on my noggin like I'm a door!
