Hi everyone! My name is Heather and I'm newly registered though not really new to the site. I've frequented the forums in the past when I faced various brick walls along my journey to getting my ILR. I figured after 3 years of visiting the site, I may as well just sign up and participate in conversation!
I've been living in Dorset for just over 3 years now and have been through the wringer getting here! I've experience Heathrow detention (10 hours!) and entry refusal, then a visa refusal. Then after marrying my partner it took a very stern letter from my immigration lawyer and a spouse visa to finally get into the country. In April of last year I then had to go through the expensive and gruelling process of obtaining my ILR. I must say, this forum and others like it were the only way I could get helpful information (I'm sure many of you are aware of how unhelpful the UKBA are!). Needless to say, my husband and I have endured a lot of stress in our first 3 years of marriage, but at least all of that mess is behind us....
I've recently come across the issue of credit building now. woohoo. One hurdle after the other, eh?
