Customer Service for Babies
« on: June 07, 2003, 11:17:58 PM »
Ok, so I work at Principles now, and there's this HUGE new company-wide initiative to ne one of the first High Street stores to actually provide decent customer service. In fact, they keep mentioning doing it the "Amaerican" way - which I'm sure is poart of why they hired me. :) Anyway, as part of this new initiative (which makes me love the company) every employee has to go through FOURTEEN WEEKS of training to learn, at the end of the day, what is basic, good customer service. It feels so weird! It's like, I feel like at 26 someone is training me to walk, as if I haven't been doing it my whole life, it's funny. :) Interesting perspective too, to watch the brits learn how to do customer service... and I'm glad to be a aprt of it too because customer service is freaking atrocious in this country, even David agrees... but anyway..... :)
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!

It sounds like they're doing something fantastic for business although it is a bit excessive.

But doesn't that just prove how bad the British are with Customer Service? 14 weeks... good lord.

Good luck with the training. No doubt you'll be first in your class.  ;)
