Hello
« on: September 01, 2013, 11:56:32 PM »
Hello! Loving Scotland and my Scottish husband, friends and family but ... yes there are times I miss home.  I find myself getting excited when I hear an American "accent" in a crowd LOL I want to run up to them and hug them! At my age, 49, I find it a bit overwhelming at times having to learn so many new things.  I hope I'm not alone in this and that's why I decided to join this group.  Thinking, hoping that I will find some like minded people to help me navigate through this new chapter in my life and hopefully I can add a bit of wisdom also.

Hi kellyg, welcome  :D
Good to hear you are loving life in Scotland! I am moving to London in October and I am a year behind you, so I know what you mean about having to learn new things/ways at our age haha!  ;D

Hi Kellyg and welcome to the UK. I'm actually the Brit in our relationship, but DW has been here 5 years and now just turned 50, and I well recall her the first 2 years saying often "why does everything have to be a struggle?" Just learning how to do things, where to go etc. Now I think she's pretty much acclimatised so just to say it does get easier!
