Softball players wanted in Birmingham
« on: April 21, 2014, 07:33:19 PM »
Hello -

I play softball for a CO-Ed softball team called the Birmingham Bobcats. We are currently in the midst of a recruitment drive for new players, especially women.
You don't have to be able to play softball - we can teach you, and we have gloves available to borrow.
Practice is every Thursday at Hallfield School in Edgbaston, Birmingham, starting at 6:15 and we play til it's too dark to see.

We play tournaments on weekends.

It's a great group of people, Brits and lots of American Ex-pats, and there are couples and fathers and sons who play and families.

Please give us a go -

It brings a little bit of home back for those of us living far away.

Speaking as objectively as possible, this sounds like a great club to be involved with.

Now...speaking as subjectively as possible, this is a fantastic club.  I've been playing for them since 2007 and chaired the club from 2008 - 2012.  They're a great group to be around, on and off the field.

As Meg pointed out, while we've got great numbers to our training sessions and the male half of our tournament team, we're looking, as always to grow the number of women on the team.
