Very cool :)

Not to send this thread down a tangent, but well, I guess I am!

Ksand - we have had the most amazing summer in England, super warm and sunny all the time.  It's been heaven!  And so far the autumn has been very mild and no need for a coat most days and not much rain.

Is there any trend for what winter is like on a year that is unseasonably warm?  Or can it swing any way from here?

I'm a bit of a weather junkie-when we lived in the States I used to watch the Weather Channel for hours on end.  Yes, I know I'm strange.....

Heheheh me too! My parents used to roll their eyes at me!
I took a meterology class in high school and I loved it. We were constantly playing with thermometers and barometers and anemometers and charting and plotting and studying historical storms and patterns and clouds, oh clouds were brilliant.   I almost went into meterology, except that the lure of engineering was too much. (thanks to STEM talk I went to myself!!!)
Hopefully you can find a way to get a Met Office talk to your daughter!  :)

I've never gotten food on my underpants!

You're stuck with me!
