When Can I apply for my QTS
« on: October 30, 2013, 02:52:58 PM »
Hi, just wondering if anyone knows if I actually have to wait till I am in the country with a visa to apply for my Qualified Teacher Status?

I am currently a licensed teacher in CT and we are not planning on moving until the end of this school year, but I was hoping to try and get anything that I can done early.  Not sure though if I have to wait until I have my visa to apply and get the QTS.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure about applying but you can certainly get all the forms sorted. If you check the QTS website, there is a form to fill out and something you need from the state licensing board--so it would maybe be easier while you're still there!

Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…
