Finacee Visa Application Help Request.
« on: January 29, 2014, 06:53:58 PM »
Hi, I am seeking clarification on what is necessary for a successful Fiancee Visa application. I am on Disability benefits and so exempt from the income threshold. If we submit the following will that cover all of our bases?

For evidence of on-going relationship: Webchats, email, phone records, plane tickets, photos of us together.

Proof of income: Benefit letters and bank statements.

Additionally letters of landlord to say that my fiancee is permitted to live there, a copy of the tenancy agreement, and a letter of the council saying that my Housing Benefit will not be affected by such a change.

Anything wrong here or additional that you think we will need? Thanks in advance.

Nick.

Looks okay to me. You seem to be thinking of the right kind of evidence.

When you have everything gathered up for the application, it's probably worth posting a list of exactly what you are including, to make sure you're not missing anything and that the documents you are sending meet the requirements (i.e. are dated within the specified amount of time, that you aren't missing an important document, that the documents you have meet the requirements for UKBA etc.).

Well, it all depends on what you are actually sending, as to what the specifications are - hence the reason I suggested posting a more detailed list of what you are sending.

But things like:

- Any letters you are including (i.e. from landlords, council, benefits, bank letters, the sponsor etc.) must be dated within 30 days of your online application date.

- The most recent bank statements and payslips must be dated within 30 days of the online application date, and you must include the most recent statement you have received at the time of applying.

- Things like screenshots of emails or webchats should only include a list of subjects and dates, no actual email or chat content, and they need to cover the whole relationship (i.e. 1-2 sheets of paper showing a list of a selection of email dates, spread over the relationship length).

- All documents must be originals, or certified copies if the original is not available to send.

Thanks for your further reply. Please find below a more comprehensive breakdown of what I consider sending as supporting evidence. Does this appear adequate? Any further input would be greatly appreciated.

Telephone and email records

Proof of benefits being:

Council Tax.
Housing Benefit.
ESA Benefit.
DLA Benefit.

Tenancy agreement.

Bank Statements. Is 3 months okay?

P60 for previous year.

Rent Reciepts.

Photos of us together. How many do you recommend?

Letter from landlord.

Letter from council to confirm Housing and Council Tax Benefit will be unaffected.

Letter from myself as Sponsor and Fiancee.

Notarized copy of passport.

Thanks again, Nick

Have you seen this link for suggested supporting documents for the visa:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/out-of-country/sup-docs-settlement.pdf

You essentially need to send:

Applicant:
- Completed online application form
- Completed VAF4a Appendix 2 form
- Passport
- 2 passport photos
- Stamped biometrics confirmation sheet (once you have booked and attended biometrics, after applying online)
- if they have any savings, bank statements showing savings

UK Sponsor:
- Passport or certified copy of passport photo page
- Letter of confirmation detailing employment, accommodation and relationship details (sample letter here: http://www.londonelegance.com/transpondia/sites/default/files/spousal.pdf )

UK sponsor finances:
- last 6 months of bank statements showing incomings and outgoings
- evidence of benefits received and evidence they will continue (and showing that you will have at least £112.55 left over each week after paying any rent and council tax)
- bank statements showing any savings if you have a savings account
- optional: a budget showing breakdown of finances (incomings and outgoings) to show you can support yourselves without the US citizen accessing any public funds

UK sponsor accommodation:
- evidence of tenancy agreement/council housing
- letter from landlord/council giving you permission to live there too

Evidence of plans to marry:
- email or written correspondence between you and the church or registry office enquiring about possible ceremony dates, or a provisional ceremony booking
- any other evidence of wedding plans, such as pictures of your dress and/or the rings, wedding invites etc.

Evidence of relationship:
- 1 or 2 photos of you together
- any boarding passes from trips to see each other
- any letters or cards sent to each other
- a screenshot of your email inbox and/or Skype call log etc. showing a selection of emails (subjects and dates) covering the duration of your relationship
- any phone bills from calling each other

A question regarding evidence of benefits - what is the best way to go about getting that? Would I have to contact each department separately or is there an easier way to obtain the necessary information showing what I get and that it will continue to be paid? Thanks.
