Where to Stay...
« on: March 18, 2014, 10:00:05 PM »
Quick question for ya'll:

I'm taking a trip down to London next month for an overnight stay. I recently stayed right on the River Thames in the Marriott County Hall, but that's waaaaaaay out of my budget.  ;D

Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could stay for around 100 quid? I, ideally, want to stay in close proximity to Covent Garden (which I know is expensive) or on the Piccadilly line, but I just wanted to see if anyone had had any recent stays somewhere great or booked through any site with great discounts.

TIA!

I've stayed at the royal national hotel quite a lot. It's not great but it's not terrible. It's about 2 minutes from Russel Square station.

Also try booking.com. I've gotten really great deals off them before.

Check out Secret Escapes.  I'm always pleased with the places they offer and they usually include breakfast.  They do Impulse rooms for each weekend.  K West Hotel and Spa is usually in the impulse sale and is in a great location by Westfields and right next to the tube on the Central line.

Check out Travelodge and Premier Inn. Stayed at a Travelodge at Tower Hill, basic but close to the tube. OK for 1 night

I use Laterooms.com when I need a last minute deal, just choose by area and price.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

I shall have a looksee and see what I can see. I've just come across laterooms and their Top Secret deals. That might be a fun way to go as well.

Anyone have any experience with Top Secret Hotels?

We stayed at the Piccadilly thistle in London which was a good location
We did pay more than £100 but we had a nice room
An excellent location for walking and tube trips   U might be able to get a cheaper
Room there. Good luck

I booked the Thistle Holborn in Bloomsbury which is near Covent Garden and Soho. It's usually about 180, but I got it for 121 through Top Secret Hotels.  ;D
