I have used an HSBC debit card to rent cars in the USA, but it looks like a credit card so I don't think the car rental people have cottoned on.
Well, that could be partly it, ours are VISA debit so maybe that helps.
I just don't want her taking the risk and then being stuck unable to get a car.
May not be as much of an issue now as I'm going over a few days later into Boston, and she'll get the train up from Philly to Boston, she'd just like a car whilst she's down in NJ.
