KitchenAid Attachments Compatible?

Hi

I am looking to buy a KitchenAid Artisan 4.8L mixer in the UK and then buying the attachments (food grinder, pouring shield, another mixing bowl) in the USA, as they are cheaper.

The mixers here look slightly smaller then the 5qt US models, so I'm concerned if the attachments will be compatible. Has anyone had experience with this?

Back in 2007 a reviewer on Amazon seemed to think that the attachments are the same for the US and UK models:



But here, in 2009 an article says that the US model of ice cream make attachment will not fit due to EU safety requirements:

Not a great help, would you be able to buy them, see if they fit, and return them if they don't? I suppose it depends on how often you are able to visit the US, or cost of postage and return policies.
