Easiest way to file?
« on: March 22, 2014, 03:43:23 PM »
I completely forgot about taxes. And just realised I need to do them soon. I had no income in the US or the UK in 2013. My husband is English and does his taxes here so I'm guessing his income doesn't come into consideration. Can someone tell me what is the most painless way for me to do this? My day's friend always just took my information and did my taxes for me at home. I am 40, a mother of two and have a Master's degree but, like lots of other people, am completely in the dark on this. Thanks for any insight or help!

If your income including interest, child benefit, income within ISAs and UK pension plans and so on was belong the filing threshold of $3,900 you do not need to file an income tax return at all.

You may still need to file your annual FBAR (FinCEN Form 114) if the balance on UK financial accounts ever exceeded $10,000 during any calendar year.
