Like pints? How about puzzles? Try Puzzled Pint!
« on: March 07, 2014, 07:17:51 PM »
If your answer to both of the above questions is YES (or even if it's YES to the first and ...maybe? to the second), then why not give Puzzled Pint a try?

Join a growing number of like-minded people on the second Tuesday of each month as we meet up in different pubs around Zone 1/2 in London to solve puzzles and enjoy pints!  If you enjoy pub quizzes, word/number/logic puzzles, meeting new people, exploring new venues, and/or enjoying a cheap, low-key night out, then we'd love to have you along. Puzzled Pint has been running in the Pacific Northwest (Portland and Seattle) for several years now; thanks to my husband sharing his interest in the event with friends last autumn, Puzzled Pint London is now up and running under the guidance of our good friends Dan and Lisa.

Those of you who remember me from waaaaaay back in the day (I don't think I've actually posted on UKY since 2010, though I pop in to read from time to time) are probably thinking 'wait, doesn't she live in the North East? That's a long way to go for a pub quiz!' - and you'd be right, for any old pub quiz, but Puzzled Pint has quickly become the highlight of my month. If you're curious, visit www.puzzledpint.com where you can view past puzzles to get a feel for what to expect and learn more about the event.  If you'd like to give it a try, March's theme is Casino - visit the homepage after 6pm this coming Monday to view the location puzzle, which when solved will tell you where to go on Tuesday night!

I've found PP to be a brilliant way to meet people and make new friends, so I hope it can help other people do the same, especially if you're new to London, or just want to expand your social circle.  It'd be lovely to see some new faces on Tuesday! If you do come along and want to say hi, that's me in my profile pic to the left - or just ask Dan or Lisa to point me out - and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them here, or send me a PM!

We went last month for the first time and had a blast - really looking forward to Tuesday this week!  Met some interesting people and got to exercise brains.  For those who are in the software field, I even saw some soft job interviewing going on  - never know who you may meet!

A ringing endorsement from another UKY member - it's a small world out there!  ;D

The location puzzle for this month is now up, if any of you fancy coming along:

Quite a few of the folks who attend are involved with television (game shows, quiz shows) in some way and others are very into various puzzle leagues, etc so casual networking does go on - the puzzles usually take 1-2 hours to solve but people usually stick around until last call just hanging out so you never know who you'll meet....
