Non USC but hopefully can join!
« on: March 12, 2014, 04:00:38 PM »
I notice in the sticky regarding membership of this forum, that even though most members are USC, others are welcome too! I do hope so as I have enjoyed reading the posts for some time now and often want to comment, ask for advice or assist. I am a UKC and live in the Caribbean with my husband. We have recently applied for a spouse visa as we are senior citizens and would like to spend more time with our adult children and their families who have lived in the UK for many years. Our visa will most likely take three months to be approved or refused, so I am chilling at the moment and just reading about other people's experiences. I am not too confident we will be approved as we failed to submit supporting documents regarding my husband's (the applicant) employment history, which was a new element on the application form. We will see if we fail to be accepted, whether they send and ask for supporting documents or whether they accept us regardless of the omission. Thank you for allowing me to join the forum!
Married 1966, left UK 1969, returned 1998, left again 2000, returned June 2014 (husband on spousal visa) granted FLR(M) November 30th 2016  and ILR on  24th May, 2019. Yeah!

Welcome! I will keep my fingers crossed that they ask for your supporting evidence so you can submit a full application. :)

Well, she was an American girl, raised on promises.
She couldn't help thinking that there was a little more to life, somewhere else.
After all it was a great big world, with lots of places to run to.
And if she had to die trying she had one little promise she was gonna keep.
