I'm worried I've gotten myself in an interesting situation...any advice is greatly appreciated.

I'm currently in the UK on a Fiance visa and we're getting married on the 6th of June, 2014.  I've made a few attempts to make an appointment to apply in person for a same day decision to get switched to a spouse visa, but every time I search for dates after my wedding date I get the response that no times are available.  I'm even providing a 2-3 week window, all days, any time of the day.  Does anyone have any secrets on how to get an appointment?  I've tried multiple locations, every day available after June 6th, etc. but it seems as nothing is available and they only release dates up to 3 months in advance.

The catch is, we're having an event on June 27th back in America for some family and friends that can't make it to the wedding here.  So we'll be needing to leave the country shortly after our wedding, likely around the 23rd of June, but if I can't make an appointment then I don't see how I'll get my passport and paperwork back in time to leave the country.

As far as I see it my other options are:
1) Leave after my wedding anyway and attempt to return shortly after the June 27th America event (my current Fiance visa is valid through July 14, 2014).  However, I understand that when I come back into the country my status will have changed to "spouse" not "fiance" and I run the risk of being sent back to America to sort out my visa.  Would they really do that even considering I took the correct path to get the fiance visa?  What if I had my proof of payment for the spouse visa and a printed out version of my application in hand as well?

2) Leave for the states shortly after my wedding, with my passport, without my wife and send in my mailed application (with passport) once I'm there and wait for it to come back before making my return to the UK.  This is obviously not ideal.

3) Mail in my application from the UK and pray to every last divine entity in the universe that my passport and Visa come back before I need to leave to the US for our event there.  If it doesn't come back, have my family and friends celebrate our wedding without the Groom...and I have my lucky best man fill in for me.  Again, this is obviously not ideal.

With the same day decision, how long does it take to get the visa in my passport and back to me?

I feel like I'm up a creek without a paddle...suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice!

Cheers,
Tyler

Slots for in-person appointments are released 6 weeks in advance.  You're trying way too early.

As Annonymiss said, appointments are released 42 days in advance.  You will receive your passport back on the day, but it can take up to 10 working days to receive your BRP (the visa) and you need to be available to sign for it.

If you do not go that route, your best bet would be to apply for a spouse visa from the US before returning.  I would not recommend attempting to reenter after you are married.

The current processing time for FLR(M) via post is about 4 1/2 months.  There is no way you could do that.

Well, that trying too early for an appointment is a bit of a relief.  However, if by any chance I can't get an appointment it sounds like I'm out of luck.

When I go to book an appointment online the days I'm attempting are not "greyed out" ...but I'll just make every effort to get the same day decision as soon after the wedding as I can, then it sounds like I'll be good!  Fingers crossed that I get an appointment!

Thanks for the information!

Where can you find the information for the processing times? I sent my app off on the 17th and got my letter to do the biometrics today (22nd), and went and got them done right away. Wouldn't that mean that they are processing the applications pretty quickly?

No. It's typical to be asked to get biometrics fairly quickly after the application is received.  It's not an indication that your application is ready to be processed.

Photo Doug applied early November and is still waiting.  The times change frequently but there is no way of knowing how long it will take.  You could hear back in as little as a month or it could take a year (that was how long people who got their approvals this time last year had to wait in some cases.  That was unusual though).

Thanks Anonymiss and KFdancer. I know the gentleman who did my biometrics yesterday said that they have gotten much quicker with the processing. The letter did say something about within 8 weeks but I am going to hope that it is far less than that :)

I've been doing some more research into my current situation. It appears as though if I book a same day decision that I should be getting my Biometric Residence Permit within 10 days as KFdancer mentioned and as stated here: https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence-permits [nofollow] which means I'll be able to leave in time for my America event.

This leaves me with 3 questions I was hoping someone will know the answer to.

1) Can I book my appointment before I'm married to assure I have an appointment date as soon after my wedding as possible?  I'll just be sure to have my application ready to submit immediately after the wedding.

2) How much are the appointments for same day decision? I have seen £100 to secure the appointment, but I have found two different fees related to this.
£375 here which is said to include the appointment fee of £100: https://www.gov.uk/ukvi-premium-service-centres/book-an-appointment [nofollow]
£400 here but doesn't mention if it includes the appointment fee of £100: https://www.gov.uk/ukvi-premium-service-centres [nofollow]

3) To confirm, I will be supplying my biometric data at the premium service centre on the same day as well, correct?

Thanks again for the help!

Yes, definitely book ahead of time.  As long as you are married when you attend the appointment, you will be fine.

I'm a bit confused on the pricing myself.

Yes, they will take your biometrics at the appointment.
