Hi Cheryl and Welcome to UKY!

San Fran is a lovely place and I am sure you will get the "why did you move" thing from plenty of people!

It must be interesting moving with the two teens?  How are they feeling about it?

Well I hope you enjoy the site!

Hi-- Welcome! I just made the move in August with my 14 year old daughter. She was excited about the move and has made the adjustment wonderfully! Her school has been very supportive of her!

Oh boy if this isn't true!!! Welcome, Cheryl! You will get SO SICK of hearing "San Francisco??? California??? What on earth are you doing HERE???" I moved to South Buckinghamshire from SF just over a year ago. And as much as I love SF I wouldn't trade it for this in a million years!

Good luck with your move!

Welcome, Cheryl! I'm in Berkshire myself, but moved from a little father up the Pacific coast (Seattle to be exact). I hope your move goes smoothly!

hi-
I'm from San Francisco, too! I lived in North Beach, right across from Wash Square park.
I lived in the UK in 1992 and 93, so like you, I am familiar with the nation. However, living here now permanently is very hard, esp at my age (32). I just got my Master's degree in Clinical Psych. in May of 2004 from Golden Gate University, and I'm a registered pre-licensed psychotherapist in California - lot of good that does me, here! Anyway, I'm not looking forward to the submission process to the British Psych. Association.
Meanwhile, we're preparing for our wedding next February.

Welcome to you; I'd love to hear about where you lived in SF and what brought you here.

all the best,
Emily
