Hello everyone! I currently live in San Francisco, and plan to join my (UK national) husband in London once I get through the opaque spouse visa process. I'll be posting questions separately in that thread.
My first time living in the UK was 2009-10 while on secondment with my US employer. That's when I met my now-husband. We moved to San Francisco, got married in 2011 and survived the green card process. Professional opportunities are better for him in London, and my prospects are equally good in San Francisco or London (I work in financial services with a focus on technology and venture capital-backed companies), so there it is. He's been working in London for the last two months.
I was in the UK last week to visit, and noticed that things are much "friendlier" lifestyle-wise since I last lived there. Amazon UK has a much better selection (plus the former Lovefilm is their streaming movies platform!), Banana Republic has more stores, and I could actually subscribe to Netflix and rent a Zipcar if I wanted to. Woo hoo!
Now, if only I could find legitimate Saran Wrap
