Greetings!
« on: November 18, 2014, 10:02:33 PM »
I'm Trilly! I moved to the Nottingham area back in mid-September (after a tedious visa process) and was told via friends that joining an expat forum might help make the transition from US to UK easier. So here I am!
You are stardust. You couldn't be here if stars hadn't exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life - weren't created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode - Lawrence Krauss

Welcome to the UK-Y! It really is a bit easier when you have some like minded folk to talk to about all the...interesting...things that are different between the US and the UK.

Hope you're having a great week!
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Hi Trilly and welcome. :)

I've been here for three years now. I found the transition relatively easy, although some things still annoy me. :D  How are you doing now that you've been here for a couple months?

Well, she was an American girl, raised on promises.
She couldn't help thinking that there was a little more to life, somewhere else.
After all it was a great big world, with lots of places to run to.
And if she had to die trying she had one little promise she was gonna keep.
