US replacement credit card
« on: September 21, 2014, 05:51:37 PM »
Hi.  I have a U.S. Chase credit card account for which the card is expiring in November this year that is linked to my mother's address in the states.

I am going back to visit  from October 8-17th.  Does anyone know if it is possible to request the replacement card to be sent early so I can collect it while I'm there?

I thought about reporting it "damaged" on the website so they would send a new one but not sure if the new one they send would have a new expiration date or remain the same until it expires.  Has anyone tried this before?

Thanks for any input

I can't speak for Chase but my bank has been able to print a card straight away if I mentioned I'd be away when it expired. Easy peasy. Not all branches could print cards, but I went to one that did and I walked away with a new card without any problems. Worth asking at least.

You could also change the billing address to your UK address; I did that years ago.

Is there a troll about....the post just before mine appears nonsensical....
Married December 1992 (my 'old flame' whom I first met in the mid-70s)
1st move to UK - 1993 (Letter of Consent granted at British Embassy in Washington DC)
ILR - 1994 (1 year later - no fee way back then!)
Back to US in 2000
Returned to UK July 2011 (Spousal Visa/KOL endorsement)
ILR - September 2011
Application for naturalization submitted July 2014
Approval received 15-10-14; ceremony scheduled for 10 November!
Passport arrived 25 November 2014. Finally done!

Or have your mother post it on to you? We retain a credit card with a USA address for that occasional online purchase where a US address is required.
