Dual citizen, been here for 2 months.
« on: March 04, 2015, 03:27:15 PM »
Found this forum after google searching questions about US-bought GPSs working in the UK, so I decided to register.

Born in Maryland, Grew up mostly in Tennessee.  Dual citizen by birth (!). If you're born in the US after  after 1983 and to atleast one British citizen, you are in fact a dual-citizen.  Crazy.

Came here to work in the booming FILM/TV industry since Tennessee doesn't offer much.

Staying with my Uncle on the Isle of Dogs til I finish up my driving lessons and begin working.

I miss the U.S's endless supply of hot Buffalo sauce and ICED Coffee.   Like, buying huge cartons of ICE COFFEE formula in the grocery store.  That's about it.

Hi and welcome. I understand the ice coffee thing (and ice in general). Personally, I'm a huge fan of Costa coffee and they do have cold coffee drinks with ice (but not as much ice). Also, if you like good hot coffee, you can invest in a Tassimo machine for your home that brews pods of Costa and other good makes of coffee. :-)
Life in the UK; from marriage and the big move in 2010 to becoming a citizen in 2014.

'Nother Tennesseean here. Been in the UK full time about seven years.

Coffee with skim milk is what used to get me. I'd rather have instant coffee with cream than proper brewed coffee with lowfat milk. Eh. So I order cappuccino.

Mountains and forests are what I miss most. I'm out on Romney Marsh, flat as a table as far as the eye can see.

Nice to meet you, I'm from Maryland. I miss a lot of things from the USA, too. Am curious about what you do in the Film/TV industry?  Sounds interesting! Pinewood Studios is about an hour from me.

Production Assistant.  Entry level stuff.  Did a reality show in Tennessee, plus a couple of commercials, and a few short films.   That's all the state has to offer.  Onto greener pastures.
