A Plymouth Planted Pat from Pugets Elsewhere
« on: February 17, 2015, 08:21:43 PM »
Greetings all. I will be joining the many that have come before me and seeking a kinship with UK family and American friends alike. I will be on contract but I am looking forward to seeing the sites and sounds of the UK. I hail from the American midwest but have traveled quite a bit with the help of my uniform.
There were a couple of comments that I enjoyed going through in the "Welcome Wagon" section of the forums and the fact pages have been wonderful. I'm sure I will have more questions than answers as most newcomers do. As a dad, is schooling going to be accelerated versus our American standard for the children, or will they fair decently if they are recieving above standard marks now? Thanks for your time,
Regards,
~Ross~   :D

Hi,

That's an impossible question to answer.

Quality of education will depend on which school they're put in and the quality of teaching, as well as your kids ability to understand and absorb new information in subjects as they progress.

I guess you could try to 'accelerate' your kids by providing them with extra tuition etc after normal school hours?

Cheers, DtM! West London & Slough UK!
