Urgent Quick help on transferring funds instantly from US to UK

I have an emergency that a family member is willing to help out with...I need funds transfered from usa to uk instantly (or within an hour or two) ..paypal doesn't work because sometimes when I withdraw it can take days...what other ways have you all used xoom looks like an option

I don't know any that can transfer instantly other than say, Western Union or the like. I think most others need some lead time.  You may be able to do a wire transfer directly from a bank account in the US to a bank account in the UK, but even those usually take at least overnight for retail customers. Have you checked into Western Union?

The quickest way is likely to be bank-to-bank, particularly if it's a large amount. Your family member will need:

Name(s) on account,
name/address of bank,
Sort-Code,
AC number,
IBAN number,
BIC number

If the IBAN and/or BIC info is not on the transfer request, it could 'bounce' or go astray. I've initiated a transfer and US$ was in my UK account that same day. Your bank/family member's bank may have differing requirements or timing.

Instantly, within hours; I would guess the only way would be Western Union.

instantly...no idea. I am using xe.com....but it takes days once you set up the site. If it is smaller amounts of money.....you might want to use something else. But....for larger amounts...xe....or something like it will save you a fair amount of money.

Nothing instant unfortunately, I have tried. Now due to money laundering everything has been made difficult. IBAN transfer or XE Xoom are the easiest but will still take a few days if it is the first time. Sorry
