Hi everyone!
We have a 95lb German Shepherd Dog that we will be shipping to the UK in the next couple weeks...as soon as I can get the paperwork together.
Backstory: the Dog shipped from Atlanta to the UK last time in August of 2013. Back then I did the whole thing myself...and aged 5 years...but that's beside the point. We were successful in the end after much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
I went through BA World Cargo last time and while they were great, they were really expensive.
I'd like to see what other options are out there...I've heard rumblings about Virgin Atlantic only charging by size of container...rather than weight.
Additionally, it appears the Annex II forms have been updated to Annex IV!? Need to make sure I've got the right Health Certificates too...and make those fun Aphis-USDA appointments...
It's all flooding back...and I remember why I hated this last time.
Additionally, I am considering going through a broker...not to mention there is a new requirement for a broker on the UK side to clear things? Seems a bit excessive for $652.15 USD!!
United quoted the following:
-$1,539 for total cargo weight: 100-150lbs
- $1639 for total cargo weight: 150-200lbs
Getting a quote from Virgin tomorrow...Yay for big expensive dogs!
