M&S credit card
« on: September 22, 2015, 08:11:25 AM »
DH & I had been toying with the M&S bank's credit card.  We often get $$ from them for trips and they have a special deal for card holders.

We decided to go for it and DH set it up with me as a secondary card holder.  Letter from them yesterday giving him the OK but saying they want "certified" copies of my UK passport, UK driving license, UK gun permit (!) or any of the other stuff which I do not have plus the usual proof of same address (bank statements and such).  DH was tempted to rip it up and stomp on it but I pointed out that as long as he had the card he would qualify for the exchange rate.

I'm getting used to being a non-entity.

I know its of no help but, when we lived in Malaysia I wasn't allowed to have a bank account in my own name! This was "in case my husband didn't want me to spend his money"!

Boston Diner.  My husband has an M&S credit card.  Since I moved my American Express card to a GBP card, we use that one primarily as we get cash back.  He had BIG problems whenever he tried to travel with the M&S card.  Would call, tell them where he was going to be, and they would deny the transactions and cancel his card.  Happened 3 times!  He doesn't use it anymore.

We wouldn't be using it abroad.  I still have a B of A credit card for over there.  No AmEx!
