Can I bring flea/tick meds with us?
« on: June 30, 2016, 02:36:20 PM »
I just got 3 months worth of flea and tick for our dog and cat. We plan for the big move on July 28, so it would leave us with 1 month's meds left over, plus I have a couple of coupons for free nexgard I'd like to take advantage of. Can I take these with me into the UK?

You can but you may find they are not as effective against local bugs/critters.

Didn't think of that. They make nexgard in the UK, I'll have to see if it's the same active ingredient.

Don't forget that Heartworm has now been brought into the UK and a few other nasties, which took UK vets a while to recognise. Even dogs that have never left the UK are getting these now.

It might be best to ask a UK vet what you should use. Or get on the UK dog forums and see what dog owners use.
