Hi, I'm new

I'm originally from New Jersey, soon to be in South Carolina because my family and I are moving there by the summer. I've always had an interest in British/Scottish/Irish culture. I'm a fiction author working on one of my first novels/novellas.

I don't know if I'll ever live in the UK long term, but I love to travel. I don't want a touristy experience of the countries. For me, being a tourist just scratches the surface. I'm 24 years old, and feel I need a break from American culture.

I hail not far from you (Philly suburbs) and have been in West Yorkshire now for the better part of six years.

Other people on the forum here are much better versed in all things visa-related so I will let them address your wish to come here long-term.  Just wanted to say, 'hi'!

It's unfortunate, but I'm seriously considering emigrating one day. I want to travel to so I'm also researching advice on longer-term travel and travelling solo. Either way, travelling is in my plans at some point.
