US and UK student loans - reporting on US tax returns?
« on: April 23, 2016, 10:08:59 AM »
I am a dual US/UK citizen studying in the UK. I am eligible for both US and UK student loans. I have no idea about how to report them on my US tax return this year. I received maintenance loans from the UK to help with my cost of living, and I also received US federal student loans to pay for my tuition and also to supplement my living expenses.

I know that my US students loans shouldn't need to be reported on my US tax return, but what about the UK student loans? Do I report them as income?

Thanks!

Any ideas? Do I need to report the UK maintenance loans I've received as income? Or report it as something else, or at all?
