I'm a US Citizen and will be staying in the UK for 4 months and not a student. Wondering if anyone has advice for medical/travel insurance only for emergencies? If anyone has a good website recommendation. Thank you very much...

It's been about three years since I used a travel insurance, but when I traveled through Europe I called my existing insurance and they put an international policy on me. Other than that I don't know of any good companies as I haven't used any.

I have used https://www.insuremytrip.com/?linkId=30973&gclid=Cj0KEQjwmpW6BRCf5sXp59_U_ssBEiQAGCV9Ghryj3LKO8Y0k_g6cj0tzl2BSsa8FpHoPY_tYFYnnuAaAlu_8P8HAQ to search for and compare insurance.

Alternatively your credit card might cover you. Enjoy your trip!

I know a person in the US who does long trips abroad with her husband and they use World Nomads for their travel and health insurance.

When I backpacked through Europe for two years I used World Nomads and it was handy being able to extend it on the road (my trip ended up being a lot longer than I thought it would be).

I now work in travel publishing and we recommend World Nomads.

Be sure to consider if the policy covers the activities you'll be doing (from bungee jumping to renting a car), your luggage (including electronic devices) and pre-existing medical conditions.
