Provisional license
« on: June 29, 2016, 08:05:43 PM »
Hi all,

Sorry if this has been answered before. I am applying for my provisional license and my understanding is I have to send my BRP card in the post, not a copy. Has anybody else done this? I'm wary of sending it out of my hands in case it doesn't get returned. Any advise. I want my license, and have limited time to send my form back in.

Thanks :)

Yes, it is pretty nerve wracking to send that hard won card away, but that is what they require.  I sent mine recorded delivery through Royal Mail and I had my little card back in my hand within a few days.

That's good to know. Thank you! It is so nerve wracking to have to send that card away.

You've probably already done it, but take a copy (scan or photo with your phone) just in case your BRP is lost. It's not likely, but better safe than sorry.

I haven't sent off as I had an interview today and wanted to supply it for them, but will be in the next day or so. I'm also sending marriage certificate for my name change. Have copies on file, may pay for first class post to come back. I think that was an option. I'm probably being more fearful than I need to be. That card is just so precious to me, lol.
