I posted this in a different section and subsequently realised I should have introduced myself first, how rude lol

Here's what I said ..

Hi all

My name is Atheana, nice Jewish girl lol originally from Long Beach NY.   Exported to the UK (from Brooklyn) back in the last century, in 89 to be exact and have only been back stateside once since then when my Grandpa was ill.  People say to me do you miss it (America) and I reply by saying no, I miss AmerICANS lol.

I don't know why it took me so long to join an expat community such as this but I have a feeling I am going to be glad I finally did lol. I even started a Facebook page "Americans Living in the UK" but despite my best efforts to get a discussion going on the zaniness of the current presidential campaign and its contenders, not had any interest.

Speaking of elections, is political discussion (ie, likes, dislikes) allowed on this forum?

I'm originally from Florida so I get asked that a lot too if I miss it. People can't seem to understand me leaving Florida for the UK but that's where life has taken me!

I see you found the Politics thread. I can imagine this will get very busy in the next few months!!

Hello Florida!  Yes I can see the Brits scratching their heads at that one lol. Considering so many (of them) spend squillions to go to Disney world, land, etc never bothering with any other state ..
