EEA Family Permit
« on: August 02, 2016, 11:18:30 PM »
My husband's EEA Family Permit was issued, he received the email with the confirmation on Sunday and just today he received the passport with the visa back. However it says the visa is valid from 30th August - 30th February. Can he enter UK earlier than this? He is trying to come this weekend?

Oh dear! What a pickle! His right to reside derives from his marriage to you, not the visa. However, you ran into real problems last time because they would not grant the family permit.

They may admit him as a visitor... I would definitely be meeting him at the airport, as he will not be travelling with you. I am doubtful they would bounce him, as that would be a break of EU law...

He has an american passport so I am assuming he can enter UK but will his family permit still be valid then? Also he has a change in Iceland. And yes I will be waiting for him in Birmingham airport

We have booked the flight already and we don't know if we should cancel it now and reschedule it or is it OK  for him to come now?

If it was me, I would reschedule for after August 30th.  Just my 2p.

As I said on your husband's thread earlier, I would advise rescheduling the flight and him not travelling until on or after the 30th.

You've already had so much trouble getting the permit in the first place, I wouldn't want you to jeopardise that by him trying to enter the UK before he is supposed to.
