Thank you very much. also for questions: if you are an unmarried or same sex partner, have you been living in a relationship akin marriage or a civil partnership? should that be no or not applicable? and would i just skip the rest? cause we are not married yet. engaged.

Correct, not applicable.  That is for the unmarried partners who have to show cohabitation for at least two years.

That question is aimed at people applying for an Unmarried Partner visa, where they have to show they have lived together in the same country for at least 24 consecutive months before applying and can prove it (tenancy agreements, utility bills, bank accounts etc.)

For a fiancé or spousal visa, you don't need to have lived together to qualify for the visa, so the question isn't relevant to you.

You can just put N/A.

No. That was the online application which you will print and sign.

Don't submit it until everything else is ready though!

You complete two forms:

- Online application

- VAF4a Appendix 2

The main VAf4a form is not accepted in the US, but it's almost the same as the online application, so can be used for reference only, but should not be submitted

It would be after FLR(M) is granted, not after marriage.

For the spouse visa (marriage in your case) I honestly can't remember. I think we had to for FLR though.

This is how the guidance reads so I don't think so but I don't suppose it would matter if you did.

Quote
Your photograph must be:
• Colour
• Passport style and size (45mm high x 35mm wide)
• A recent and true likeness, showing full face, with no hat, helmet or sunglasses, although you can wear everyday glasses
• Original - that is not digitally or optically altered (for example it must not be ‘photoshopped’ or ‘touched-up’)
• Taken against an off-white, cream or light grey background so that your features are clearly distinguishable against the background
• Printed on low-gloss, plain-white photo-quality paper (with no watermarks or embossing)
Photographs that do not conform to these standards will be rejected and may cause a delay in processing your application.
