Holy Moly Woman!!!  Have you forgotten already that I got no contact from Sheffield but by haunting the UPS tracking site I found out it was on it's way?

There will be a letter on top of your binder saying you've been approved.   :D

We have seen this happen before with other applicants; I wouldn't worry about it meaning anything at the moment.  Hopefully you'll have your visa in a few days.  :)

No need to be petrified :). All it means is that your application has been processed and your passport and documents are on their way back to you.

Not everyone has been getting emails in the last few weeks - it seems Sheffield are being a bit lax about sending them - so not getting one means nothing.

Your timeline seems to fit with other people, like redhawk, who applied around the same time as you and who received their visas in the last few days.

Don't forget to treat your approval letter like it's gold.  Keep it safe as you need to give it to immigration & then to the postal worker.  And before anyone panics---yes you get it back from both.

I've put mine back in the binder along with the paperwork the postal worker gave me so I won't misplace anything.

I'd be interested to hear how it goes at immigration, airbornejulie, because redhawk, I think you're the only person who has said they needed to show the letter to immigration... And I'd be interested to know if that's just because everyone else is also having to show it but they haven't mentioned it, or if you just got a picky IO who asked for it.

I would be curious that if you did not get the visa, how long before you see the insurance money back in your account? Any ideas?
Do people usually figure out if they received or not this way?

Some people have said the their IHS surcharge has been refunded before they even got their passport and documents back, while it says on the website that it can take up to 90 days from the refusal: https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigration-application/refunds

Not that many people have been refused recently though (US applications have about a 95% visa approval rate), so there's not much info to go on.

Oh boy, those last couple of days when you know the decision has been made but you don't know what it is...  I still remember the feeling!

We actually had the opposite situation, we got the decision made email but the tracking number we were provided with didn't work!    ::)

Fingers crossed for you! ;D

Hi ksand24

The letter says (well MY letter said) lol  Show this letter to the Immigration Officer.  So I handed the letter over first then the passport with the boarding card stuck right in the spot where the "sticker" was (that way she didn't have to flip through to find it).  Letter also says to give to postal worker so they can locate the BRP card quicker.

After 10 years of waiting, I wasn't taking any chances.  lol

Total time spent at Immigration cubicle was less than 4 minutes.  Normally it takes me an hour to get from door of plane to exit door of airport.  This timeframe had been a running joke the passed 10 years as it always seemed I was the very last person to depart.  This time the timeframe was 15 mins & I ended up sat outside waiting to get picked up.  lol

Cool - I haven't seen the letter myself, so I don't know what it actually says... only what people have mentioned here, and as I don't remember anyone else mentioning that they had to show it to the IO, I wasn't aware that it was something you were supposed to do.

Now that you've shared your experience, I've learned something new about the process :).

The email you get from UKVI doesn't actually say anything other than to tell you your documents have been processed and to give you a tracking number. It sucks that it didn't go out, but you don't have any less or any more information than anyone else. :)

The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.
