Oreos

I went to Tesco recently and found that they have finally introduced Mint Oreos to the UK. Finally! It's nice to be able to buy a pack for 55p or so instead of having to fork out on the ridiculously overpriced imported ones.

It's Double Stuff or nothing for me!

I'm not usually an Oreo fan, but I was just about to make some Rice Krispie Treats with crushed (plain) Oreos and white chocolate.

They taste like cookies & cream.

How about Grape and Peach Oreos?  They taste like Satan's poo

We quite like Oreos in my team at work. Right now the obsession seems to be on the Strawberry Cheesecake or Peanut Butter ones.  Both help the meetings pass by quickly.    Looking on amazon, there are some crazy flavours in the US right now. Like blueberry pie and cinnamon roll Oreos. 

Growing up, if we had sandwich cookies, then we often had the generic supermarket chocolate or vanilla sandwich cookies that came together in a packet.  If we were really lucky, we got Hydrox cookies.  Mmmm. Hydrox.  Now that's a tasty cookie. 

Don't you work in the plastics industry?  Perhaps that explains your tolerance for those wierd flavours of Oreos.

Although, peanut butter Oreos sounds pretty good.

I am full of useless information...

Hydrox cookies actually came out before Oreos. Oreos became the popular brand and Hydrox took second fiddle. I always thought Hydrox were the 'store brand' of Oreo until I got bored and read about it one day. I double checked and it was 4 years. Hydrox was 1908, Oreo was 1912. Hard to believe they've been around for over 100 years! I don't remember Oreo celebrating that birthday/anniversary...

My favourite Oreos, other than the normal ones, are the mint ones! The US ones are better, the mint flavour isn't as strong if you buy UK made ones.

And I gotta ask. What do you all think a serving of Oreos is? My husband teased me for eating 4 of them today.

I am typically a fan of anything that peanut butter has even looked at, but I just can't stand the peanut butter oreos.  They're so dry.  It's a real shame.  Guess I will have to stick to dipping my oreos in smooth peanut butter (talk about first world problems).

Those are what you're thinking of. Except that Hydrox actually came before Oreos.   
I like a Hydrox cookie because they're not as sweet and have a more dark chocolately taste. I think it depends on if you're into more bitter or sweet flavours. 
Whoever came up with Oreos must have been into more sweet flavours than bitter

I find three to be the perfect number!

I've just tried the cinnamon bun oreos and I thought they were really nice. I think they would be better if the pack I bought wasn't a bit stale though
